A 7 month old baby’s death, occurring on a playard/mattress pad, had been determined by the San Mateo County coroner’s office to have been caused by sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

But the death was NOT caused by SIDS.

On March 17, 2016 we obtained an $8-million dollar jury verdict* against a baby product manufacturer, Evenflo, because the jury determined that the cause of death was suffocation due to the defective design of the playard/mattress pad ... and not SIDS.

The evidence we uncovered and produced indicated that other “SIDS deaths” are also not caused by SIDS at all.

If you have knowledge of a suffocation death occurring on a mattress or playard pad, whether or not the death has been "diagnosed" as SIDS, please contact us.

* the jury verdict was dependent upon the facts of that case.  The results will differ if based on different facts.
